FAQ's:
- Do I need to sign up for the event?
Yes. We need to get an accurate count of who can help hand out flyers and help with the clean-up. We also need to know who can attend the composting class and the cook-out so that we can have enough food. Please sign-up here.
- Who is coordinating this event?
Tom Fuller (lives on Lawrence). He can be reached at 832-3873 home or 460-4908 work.
- Do I need to sign up to help wash cars?
It's not required, however it would really help the coordinator to know who is coming.
- If I'm going to help wash cars, what time
do I need to be there?
Set-up is at 9:00 AM.
- What do I need to bring?
Please bring any of the following if you have them: garden hose, buckets, car wash rags or mitts, car wash soap, a chair (if you get tired and want to sit down)
- Can my kids help?
Absolutely! This is a great event to get your kids involved in our Community Watch.
- My child has a friend that wants to help,
but they don't live in our neighborhood?
That's ok, bring them along!
- Are we charging a fee for people to get
their cars washed?
No, this is a donation function only. To charge a fee, we would have to get a peddlers license.
- I can't help the day of the event, is
there anything I can help with ahead of time?
Yes. If you can make Car Wash Signs, that would be a help.
- I can't help the whole time. Can I come
for an hour or so?
Yes. All volunteers, regardless of how long you can help, are welcome.
- Will we have any tables set up with literature?
Yes. We will have information on Community Watches, what they are and how you can start one. We also plan to have information on Identity Theft and Child Safety.
- Why are we doing this?
We do not charge people to be a part of the Community Watch. Some of our activities have costs associated with them (National Night Out in August). This money will help cover those costs. In addition, we would like to put Info tubes/signs on every street, and these monies will help us accomplish that goal.
